Check this out!

Hey guess what! My facebook page has just hit 105 fans!!! WOW! I never thought that day would come,  back in the day where I was ecstatic when it 30 fans. Pearls for Curls has come so far, includingrecently being displayed in a storefront window in The FolksArt, a neat store in downtown Milledeville that features local and regional artists crafts and art. So exciting for me!!

If you are curious about this page I'm talking about, you should check out the Facebook fan page for Pearls for Curls, here. I'm really interested your feedback, and exploring ways to get feedback on the Faceook page, about what people's favorite type of hair accessories are, and if they have a favorite look they've seen at Pearls for Curls, what it is.

Hope you have a great weekend, lovely readers!

Hey! You!

Pearls for Curls officially has a Facebook Page!!! Big step, I know (ha). You would be my favorite person ever if you went and “liked” it! Here’s the link:

Actually scratch that, it doesn’t have a separate web link from the Facebook homepage. So it’s listed under “Pearls for Curls,” and YOU should go check it out!

Crafty To-do list

So, as promised, I’m going to give you a little snippet of what’ve top on my to-do list currently....although, in all honesty, this list is never ending.
I have so many embroidery hoops that need to be put to good use, anyone else think this Hoop Art is nothin’ short of precious?
I think these would be such a huge hit for gifts.
Paper bag skirt - Make It and Love It
ok, these? Guess the price tag on these babies.
Hm, how about a whoopin’ $65!
Buy them here, BUT I’m gonna be recreating these soon, FOR SURE.

I have TONS of zippers, and have been saving them for this purpose exactly. love.
More rosette necklaces that i hope to be adding to the collection very very soon.

Now, isn’t this gorgeous?!
I think I can make this Anthropologie-look-alike, for about a third of the price.

Love the classic simplicity of these clips. I hope to move to a more cleaner refined look (like these) in my creations. It definitely takes more time and precision, but the end result looks so much better!
So, what about you? What’s on your list? What do you think I should tackle from this list first? Have a happy monday, friends!

Saturday Snapshot!

Hello lovely readers! I have successfully had my first two sales this week!! (insert giddy happy dance here). Funny story how both of them happened, with the first, I had brought all of my stock to the library to show my fellow crafter friend, Elena, and the girls in my small group study just were surprisingly fascinated with everything! And a wonderful friend, Keri, bought this headband:

And here she is wearing it!

And then with the second, I was also with my wonderful and sweet friend Elena, and we were pricing in the lobby of my dorm. Who would’ve thought that I would have six girls come up to us interested in my stuff!!? Well I ended up having three sales, and a REALLY really organized stock. Thank you, Elena!!! Here’s a picture with two beautiful customers  commemorating my first week of sales:
And they so kindly agreed to model their purchases:
Now YOU should go check out Elena’s awesome blog, Brown Paper Packages (tied up with string), for some pretty rockin’ tutorials like wall monograms using only hangers and yarn, curtains using leftover scraps, and fairy lights using string lights and egg cartons.

Paper Rosie Hair Pin Tutorial!

This is such a cute but yet sophisticated rose and can be used to embellish picture frames, cards, or hair clips! Think of all the lovely cardstock papers you could use to make these beauties fit any occasion!

You will need..
-Squares of card stock in whatever color you want your rose to be (it doesn't necessarily need to be a square, you just need to be able to cut a circle out of whatever you start with)
-Fast drying glue (I use a hot glue gun)
-Scissors
-Green Cardstock-enough to make a few leaves
-Bobby Pin
-Matte Acrylic Spray Sealer (krylon works)

1. Gather all materials together
2.Take one colored sheet of card stock, and draw a big spiral swirl. It does not matter how big it is, and it absolutely doesn't need to be perfect. Draw 2 leaf shapes on the green cardstock

3. Next, Cut out along the lines of the spiral swirl, starting at the outside point. (obviously from my example, it REALLY does not have to be perfect!). Cut out the leaves

4. Starting at the outside of the swirl, begin to tightly roll the swirl together. Keep the spiral held tight.
5.When you get to the center nub, let go of what you've just rolled up! (Trust me here) It will all uncoil ever so slightly to a natural rose.
6. Put a dab of glue on the little nub (the center of the spiral,) pushing the whole rose down onto the nub for a few seconds just to secure everything in place.
7. Slide bobby pin on to one leaf then place it on top of the second leaf and glue to the flower

8. Spray the entire paper flower and leaves with the sealer let dry 15 minutes and spray again. This makes the bloom waterproof and allows you to wear it again and again.
So sweet!
